I haven't fallen off the face of the planet.
So I haven't been able to blog much lately. Partly due to the fact that I have been really busy, partly due to my lack of internet at my house. I appologize. Yeah I know that this particular blog has not quite made it up and running yet, but I am working on it. I haven't knitted much lately. I have two projects in the works right now. Huge Triangle Shawl from Greetings from Knit Cafe by Suzan Mischer. I have run into the problem of being unable to find needles the correct size. I am using size 10. I have 200 stitches (halfway done) and I am running out of room fast. So I decided to put it aside a bit and start working on Christmas presents. I am starting with a scarf for my father in law using Lion Brand Homespun in Edwardian and the left over grey yarn from the hiking scarf held together in a basket weave. So far it is nice. It is about 2 1/2 feet long right now. I am starting to worry that I will run out of the grey stuff. :( I am not real sure where I can get more. Oh well Maybe I will just have to cut it short. I am going to start a scarf for my daddy as soon as I finish. Both dads put in orders for scarves. Funny. My dad was real specific. He said that he wanted one in navy blue so it will look nice with his work uniform. So his will be next. I was going to just do a plain ribbed scarf for times sake but I am thinking that a little pattern won't be too much trouble, since I am doing a rather time consuming pattern (to me anyway) on Glen's scarf. We will see. I haven't done much else. I did a small pouch for Whit for her cross stitch stuff. No real pattern or anything. Just kind of made it. Turned out kind of nice if I do say so myself. A little lopsided but I know how it can be avoided next time. I have done a couple of dish clothes. And that is about it. Oh and I did my first counted cross stitch. It is a pumpkin. Pretty cute little thing. It was a fun experience but I definately don't like it as much as knitting. Just didn't leave me feeling as satisfied. I will post pictures later. Also I tried my hand at sewing. Bry bought me some fabric to make a table cloth out of for his band's merch booth. I did it without using a pattern. It turned out ok. It wasn't too complicated. Basically I made a top with four sides. And I did the hems. I decided not to stitch up the sides in case they use another table at some point. I am hoping that it will be versitile enough to be used on other sizes of tables. Um.....We had a new comer to SnB last night. She seemed really nice. Can't wait to hang out with her some more. Even if she is my internet stalker! LOL!
